Changeover Optimization

The goal of this page is to allow the user to evaluate the optimal order in which to perform a series of format changes to minimize the total time required to complete them.

To submit a request, it is first necessary to set the format changes that need to be considered. A dedicated control is available to select up to fifteen format changes from those possible.

Once the formats are selected, the page will be populated with information related to the requested optimization. Specifically, the visualization presents two distinct tables:

• Optimization with Prior Mean: this table shows the sequence of formats to perform on the machine to achieve the shortest overall format change time, using the ideal times manually entered by the user in the appropriate section for the analysis;

• Optimization with Bayesian Mean: in this second table, an alternative optimization is proposed using the real historical data related to format changes. The formula used to assess the weight of each format change is based on the Bayes' mean or posterior mean.
